Some Reminders and Updates

"Operation Firing for Effect"
THE VETERANS MARCH
Contact us at:

Washington, D.C.
April 25, 26 2006

Hello fellow veterans and concerned others.
Please let me take this opportunity to tell you the mission of “Operation
Firing for Effect” and “The Veterans March.”
We are dedicated to hold our Veterans to the utmost esteem and we must demand
promises given to our veterans are kept.
We have formed this group to carry-on with the work that was started in 1931 when a group of veterans marched to Washington and demanded that the promise to veterans be kept.
For further information regarding how we are implementing that mission please see attached flyer (ALFA 2).
We need your support.
Always Faithful,
Gene D. Simes, President Veterans for Veteran Connection Inc. (VFVC)
Chairman of “Operation Firing for Effect and the Veterans March”

Our Veterans really need our support in any way that you can. March with them, call or write your Reps and Hillsitters, donate (every bit helps!), email family and friends.

Now go over to God Bless America and click on the video "A Pittance of Time" on his sidebar.
(definite tissue alert) Plus, he has a great photo of Rick Dipietro's helmet (he's the goalie for the US Hockey team! Go Rick!!!)

Milblog Conference

"The 2006 Milblog Conference will take place in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 22, 2006. The conference is designed to bring milbloggers together for one full day of interesting discussion on topics associated with milblogging. We will explore the history of milblogs, as well as what the future may hold for this medium which the military community is using to tell their stories.

The milblog community is diverse, and we intend to showcase the full spectrum of milblogs, including those who have blogged from theater, veteran members of the armed forces, spouses and parents."

As of 2/16/06, there are 95 bloggers registered. Registration is free. 300 seats total.

You can be at the Conference and then go on the March ~ works out nicely, doesn't it?

Oh those pesky cartoons ~

Crazy Politico's Rantings has a good post on "Flemming Rose, publisher of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten who has gained fame an notoriety by publishing the 12 cartoons of Mohammed has an op/ed piece in today's Washington Post explaining why he did it."

Also an interview by Newsweek (I know, I know...), the important part here being the answers the "Yemeni editor who dared publish them" gave.

Oh, it ain't no big deal! Yeah, right!

And on an end note, Willie Nelson does good!!!
